Entrance examination 2009-2010

The entrance examination of the Francophone institute for computer science (IFI) will be organized in Hanoi, Danang and ho Chi Minh City for the Vietnamese candidates. For the foreign candidates, it will be organized the same day in the Offices/Antennas/CNF/CAI of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie of the country (or of the nearest country). The examination date will be announced to candidates.

The examination includes a test in Mathematics and a test in Computer science on the following topics:

  Mathematics:                                                     Computer science :

     Recurrence and recursivity,                                    General knowledge,

     Trees and graphs,                                                  Algorithms and programming,

     Discrete probabilities,                                             Databases,

     Combinatory,                                                         Operating systems,

     Matrix algebra,                                                       Networks.

      Asymptotic analysis.

N.B. 1 : The programming languages to be used in the tests are: C, C++ and/or Java.
N.B. 2 : The tests are proposed in three languages: Vietnamese, French and English.

Candidates who want to go directly in Master 1 (already speaking French) must pass also a French examination. The others will be admitted in the French preparatory class and will do the French examination at the end of this class. To be admitted in Master courses, one must pass and succeed all three examinations in Mathematics, Computer science and French.

The previous examination archives are available for download under Examination archives in the IFI website (not all archives are available in English).

Registration to the entrance examination: 

All candidates must first fill the Online inscription and download the application file from the IFI website, and this from March 31st. This file (paper version), once completed, must arrived before July 15, 2009 at the following address:

Be careful with the delay of post mail : a (post) mail sent from outside Vietnam can take longer than one month to be delivered.
